Use Hypnosis as an Easy Anxiety Relief Remedy

Posted by Sylvia on 5th February 2009

That’s right. Hypnosis can give you anxiety relief and you don’t even need a therapist. Self hypnosis is a way to relax your mind and focus on something other than your anxiety.

The trick is to know what things make you anxious. For some people, this is easy, but for others their anxiety is more vague - an odd sensation that creeps over them for no apparent reason. I know what that feels like. Mine were like that.

But there were times when I could identify the source. Often, it was because I was stressed about something - fearful, even. Being unsure of how I would deal with the situation, I became panic-stricken instead. Then, one day my therapist introduced me to hypnosis.

He ran me through it a few times and recommended a book on self hypnosis. I’d give you its name, but I no longer have it, but any self hypnosis book will tell you how to do it.

It’s simply a matter of sitting back, getting into a relaxed state in a location where you will not be interrupted but you feel perfectly safe and comfortable.

Focus your attention on some wonderful vision - perhaps it’s your own garden or your favorite travel destination. Pay attention to what you see - the beauty, the positive energy, the calmness. Smell the air, feel the sand under your feet and the sun on your face. Listen to the wind blowing through the trees.

Next, imagine you are doing the one thing that made you fearful, but see yourself going through it with confidence and success.

Practice this exercise whenever you feel stressed or when anxiety begins to creep in. Before long, you will be able to control your feelings by simply taking a break, relaxing and going into your vision.

Afraid Of The Dentist? Dental Care Providers Can Help With Anxiety Fear

Posted by Sylvia on 5th January 2009

Did you know that your dentist can help with anxiety? Fear of the dentist is quite common, and for people like you and I who suffer with anxiety, it can be an excruciating experience. Fortunately for you, the dentist can help you to overcome those fears quickly. It’s a little late for me.

Unlike the “old days”, you no longer have to avoid the dentist if fear stands in your way. Dentists are now quite knowledgeable about such things and can help with anxiety fear so that you can get the dental care you need.

Fear of the unknown is the main factor in your anxiety, whether you’re starting a new school or job, moving to a new neighbourhood, or visiting the dentist. Most likely, you fear the pain that you might be facing.

Today, there’s so much your dentist can do to ease your concerns. Modern technology enables today’s dentists to work on you while causing little or no discomfort. But dentists, too, have become more experienced in anxiety fear and can help with anxiety.

Don’t let your anxiety cost you. I can only wish dentists were as advanced when I was young. Then, I would not have suffered tooth loss to the degree that I did, not to mention the pain of abscesses and tooth decay that I endured.

If you need help with anxiety, trust your dentist. Ask questions about what you should expect. Let him know your anxiety fear and he will do what he can to get you through the procedure with relative ease.

Is anxiety fear ruling your life? Want help with anxiety that actually works? I’ve written a review of The Linden Method, one of the top anxiety relief methods available today. You can Read It Here.

Make Journaling Your Personal Anxiety Disorder Treatment

Posted by Sylvia on 14th December 2008

Keeping a journal will help you to overcome your anxiety attacks. Writing in it every day provides personal therapy sessions where you are able to get your worst fears out of your head. Once they are expressed on paper, you will feel relieved almost immediately – at least a little bit.

Over time, your anxiety attacks will become less severe, especially if you combine journal writing with talk therapy. It doesn’t have to be a doctor, but a therapist can provide professional feedback on your condition. Friends and family who you trust can be extremely supportive.

Hiding your anxiety from them is probably not going to help you. In fact, it can make you worse because in your mind, you have convinced yourself that your anxiety disorder, which is a form of mental illness, will not be acceptable to them. It’s something you keep to yourself.

That is old world thinking. It used to be that way back in the 50s and even the 60s, but today more people are recognizing anxiety in themselves and in others. They are becoming much more accepting of the condition. You might be surprised how many people you speak to can relate to some of the feelings you are experiencing.

If you’re reluctant to speak out, start with your journal. Each day, write down anything that comes to mind, especially your fears and things that bother you in your everyday life. If you’re having problems at work or at home, writing them down will make it easier for you to cope with them. It will help you come up with ideas and solutions once you can see them on paper.

And in a lot of cases, you will realize that they aren’t nearly as serious as you thought. Writing things down tends to do that – bring things into their proper perspective.

Your journal entries can be about anything that will get you writing:

  • Your dreams – the wonderful (and disturbing) dreams you’ve been having
  • Passing thoughts – whether it’s things you need to get done or wish others would do
  • Meditations – or prayers you like to use to feed your spiritual side
  • Your successes – This is great for building your self esteem and make you feel good
  • Your goals – where you’d like to be in your life next week, next month or in 5 years
  • Shopping lists including things you’d love to have if you could spare the money
  • Family photos or pictures of your beautiful garden or last vacation
  • Doodling will get your hand moving similar to writing
  • Your favorite songs or those ditties that stick in your head
  • poems – Limericks can be fun – you don’t even have to be good at it.
  • self-portraits – if you can draw, good. If not, write about your life, who you are including likes and dislikes, special skills, how you’ve helped others, etc.
  • plans – jot down things you’d like to get done and how you’ll achieve them.

This is by no means a comprehensive list. It’s just to get you started. Be sure to make it fun. Focusing all your writing on your anxiety attacks is not good, but mixing them with pleasant topics will ease your beliefs about your anxiety disorder.

Some day, you can turn all those notes into a book about how you coped, survived and recovered from your anxiety disorder. Why note use your experience to help others? You never know. Maybe that’s why you were given this challenge in your life.

The Linden Method is one of the best anxiety treatment programs around. Read my review here.

Help For People Suffering Anxiety Attacks During The Economic Crisis

Posted by Sylvia on 13th December 2008

Are you as down about the financial crisis as I am? Are you worrying whether you will be affected? Or if you’ve already been affected, are you worried over how you’ll cope?

If you’re like me and become anxious rather easily, you are probably feeling quite uneasy right about now.

It is scary to think that you could lose your job or your home. It’s also terrifying to realize that you could well end up on the street, in the cold, hungry and homeless. I’ll be up front with you. I’m facing that nightmare right now. If things don’t change drastically – and for the better – in the next two months, I could well be out there looking for a place to stay.

I’ve always been able to make money, drive a car even though it was a low-end model, and have a roof over my head. But now, I’m wondering how I’ll manage. I’ve already lost my vehicle. My savings are depleted.

And after many years of being anxiety-free, I’m beginning to panic. Over the past few weeks, I’ve noticed that I become extremely angry for the slightest reasons. It’s not new. I’ve always had a bad temper, even when I was a young girl. My brother tormented me relentlessly. Now that I’m in my 60s, the anger only appears when I’m stressed out and scared.

I just read an article in the Poughkeepsie Journal announcing that due to the economic problems that are facing so many people, a mental health center in Dutchess County is offering screenings for depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, generalized anxiety disorder and bipolar disorder.

It happens this Tuesday, so if you are in that area and are interested in the screening, it will probably be too late by the time you read this.

Just in case, you can find out more here:
For information, call 845-486-2896 or visit www.mhadc.com

Otherwise, you might get some relief by stopping by your local public health center or Salvation Army. They can offer comfort and in some cases, counselling to help you cope with your situation. Both of these are free services. Check your area for any other psychology or family services volunteer agencies that offer free programs.

Look for any depression self-help groups in your neighbourhood. Your local mental health association or public health center should be able to direct you to them.

It’s rough this time of year to be dealing with issues like this. I hope you find the support you need when you need it the most.

Best wishes for a better future.

Regards,

Sylvia

Anxiety and panic got a strangle hold on you? The Linden Method is proving its worth in helping people just like you. It’s been around for awhile now, and is THE #1 anxiety elimination method available with over 110,000 satisfied clients.

Other programs simply provide you with a book or perhaps a few audios. This is the only one to provide ongoing support for a full year. Charles Linden wants others to benefit from the program that he developed after struggling with anxiety and panic disorder for years. He knows what he’s talking about!

The Linden Method is the ONLY solution to offer a 12 month guarantee after 12 months of unlimited psychologist/counselor/specialist support. That’s pretty amazing, if you ask me. It’s not easy finding such great backup support.

Charles wants you to get well, because he knows how devastating panic disorder can be.

Watch for his upcoming television announcements that will be aired in the next few months in the US and in the UK, as well as internationally.

As I said, the Linden Method is far more than an ebook and a few audios. You can get the downloadable version, or you can choose the hard copy. It consists of a manual, DVD, 7 CDs and unlimited support by email and phone. Compare the cost of this program and its extras to the cost of just one counselling session.

Find An Anxiety Treatment That Helps You Overcome The Anxiety Habit

Posted by Sylvia on 22nd November 2008

Anxiety treatment comes in many forms, some more effective than others. The key is to get to the root of the anxiety itself and eliminate it once and for all. A good treatment program will do that.

Think of it as replacing one bad habit with a good one. Like smoking and nail-biting, anxiety is a habit that you learned. Fortunately you can un-learn it.

Basically, anxiety is a mild form of panic. Once you react to a situation with anxiety, you have learned that is how to respond whenever that situation arises. Before long, you decide subconsciously that anxiety is the way to go and you become a chronic anxiety sufferer. You become anxious under many circumstances. Left untreated, anxiety disorder will turn into panic which is far more debilitating that a simple anxiety attack.

It’s not uncommon for people who suffer from phobias, anxiety disorder and panic attacks to feel somewhat embarrassed. Over time, they become hesitant to leave their homes for fear of having an attack in public places.

This does nothing to alleviate the condition. In fact, it makes it worse because it does not receive the attention it deserves. Anxiety sufferers become obsessed with their condition, always expecting another attack to hit without warning. Their quality of life suffers tremendously.

Anxiety treatment, therefore, is best started early to prevent the condition from escalating.

There are some common treatments available.

You can seek help from your physician who might choose to prescribe one of several medications that are designed specifically to treat anxiety. Some patients do not respond well to medications and would prefer not to take them at all. If you have already reached panic levels, chances are you will be better able to cope if you accept medication temporarily until you have it under control.

Talk therapy is another option. For this, your doctor can refer you to a therapist or you can seek one out on your own. The therapist will help you to work through whatever is causing you to feel stressed out and thereby remove the initial triggers that led to your condition.

There are also some quality products available online that can give you the relief you so desperately crave. Be careful in selecting one, however, because not all programs will do what the developers claim.

To weed out the bad from the good, do a quick search on the Internet for any information you can find. First, look to see how long the company has been in business. If they’ve been around awhile, they most likely have developed a product that gets real results.

Look for reviews of those products to see what people are saying. Again, you can’t trust everything you see. Some promoters have never seen or used the product, and might not even have had anxiety disorder, and cannot provide a true review. You’ll be able to spot those by the way the review is written. If it sounds just like the sales page for the product, chances are the review is meaningless.

The best reviews are those done by people who have actually seen and used the product and can offer their own personal views on its effectiveness. You’ll be able to tell the difference between a real review and a fake one when you compare one of each.
