You Can Stop Your Anxiety Fast With This Stress Expert’s Help

Posted by Sylvia on 17th January 2009

When your anxiety strikes, what do you do? Do you become tense, light-headed, and fearful? That’s what happens to most people, including me.

If you could calm yourself down, what do you think would happen? That’s right. Your anxiety will subside. The thing is, how do you relax when you are so afraid and that adrenalin is racing through your system?

You turn on something relaxing that will redirect your energy. A long-established stress expert can help you with that.

When I worked for the Canadian Mental Health Association in the 1980s, we put together a video on stress relief that was made available through the organization. The man behind that amazing experience was Eli Bay, a Toronto relaxation and stress relief specialist.

From first hand experience, I can tell you that he knows exactly how to relax you in quick time.

If you’ve been reading my posts for awhile, you will know that I suffered with anxiety and panic for about 10 years. Stress was just one element. Eli’s calming voice and presentation drove away all tension in a matter of minutes.

From that personal experience, I can highly recommend his products.

I’s been a long time since Eli and I worked on that set of videos for the Association through the service he called Relaxation Response. It was a one-time collaboration. He brought in a group of stressed people and we went through several relaxation exercises, while his relaxation tapes played in the background. It was a wonderful experience.

Just today, I came across his web site and was pleased to see that he is still doing his great work.

I will be writing a more complete review later and post it at http://natural-anxiety-remedies.com where you can read other anxiety relief product reviews.

In the meantime, you can take a look at his products by visiting this link

Afraid Of The Dentist? Dental Care Providers Can Help With Anxiety Fear

Posted by Sylvia on 5th January 2009

Did you know that your dentist can help with anxiety? Fear of the dentist is quite common, and for people like you and I who suffer with anxiety, it can be an excruciating experience. Fortunately for you, the dentist can help you to overcome those fears quickly. It’s a little late for me.

Unlike the “old days”, you no longer have to avoid the dentist if fear stands in your way. Dentists are now quite knowledgeable about such things and can help with anxiety fear so that you can get the dental care you need.

Fear of the unknown is the main factor in your anxiety, whether you’re starting a new school or job, moving to a new neighbourhood, or visiting the dentist. Most likely, you fear the pain that you might be facing.

Today, there’s so much your dentist can do to ease your concerns. Modern technology enables today’s dentists to work on you while causing little or no discomfort. But dentists, too, have become more experienced in anxiety fear and can help with anxiety.

Don’t let your anxiety cost you. I can only wish dentists were as advanced when I was young. Then, I would not have suffered tooth loss to the degree that I did, not to mention the pain of abscesses and tooth decay that I endured.

If you need help with anxiety, trust your dentist. Ask questions about what you should expect. Let him know your anxiety fear and he will do what he can to get you through the procedure with relative ease.

Is anxiety fear ruling your life? Want help with anxiety that actually works? I’ve written a review of The Linden Method, one of the top anxiety relief methods available today. You can Read It Here.

Find An Anxiety Treatment That Helps You Overcome The Anxiety Habit

Posted by Sylvia on 22nd November 2008

Anxiety treatment comes in many forms, some more effective than others. The key is to get to the root of the anxiety itself and eliminate it once and for all. A good treatment program will do that.

Think of it as replacing one bad habit with a good one. Like smoking and nail-biting, anxiety is a habit that you learned. Fortunately you can un-learn it.

Basically, anxiety is a mild form of panic. Once you react to a situation with anxiety, you have learned that is how to respond whenever that situation arises. Before long, you decide subconsciously that anxiety is the way to go and you become a chronic anxiety sufferer. You become anxious under many circumstances. Left untreated, anxiety disorder will turn into panic which is far more debilitating that a simple anxiety attack.

It’s not uncommon for people who suffer from phobias, anxiety disorder and panic attacks to feel somewhat embarrassed. Over time, they become hesitant to leave their homes for fear of having an attack in public places.

This does nothing to alleviate the condition. In fact, it makes it worse because it does not receive the attention it deserves. Anxiety sufferers become obsessed with their condition, always expecting another attack to hit without warning. Their quality of life suffers tremendously.

Anxiety treatment, therefore, is best started early to prevent the condition from escalating.

There are some common treatments available.

You can seek help from your physician who might choose to prescribe one of several medications that are designed specifically to treat anxiety. Some patients do not respond well to medications and would prefer not to take them at all. If you have already reached panic levels, chances are you will be better able to cope if you accept medication temporarily until you have it under control.

Talk therapy is another option. For this, your doctor can refer you to a therapist or you can seek one out on your own. The therapist will help you to work through whatever is causing you to feel stressed out and thereby remove the initial triggers that led to your condition.

There are also some quality products available online that can give you the relief you so desperately crave. Be careful in selecting one, however, because not all programs will do what the developers claim.

To weed out the bad from the good, do a quick search on the Internet for any information you can find. First, look to see how long the company has been in business. If they’ve been around awhile, they most likely have developed a product that gets real results.

Look for reviews of those products to see what people are saying. Again, you can’t trust everything you see. Some promoters have never seen or used the product, and might not even have had anxiety disorder, and cannot provide a true review. You’ll be able to spot those by the way the review is written. If it sounds just like the sales page for the product, chances are the review is meaningless.

The best reviews are those done by people who have actually seen and used the product and can offer their own personal views on its effectiveness. You’ll be able to tell the difference between a real review and a fake one when you compare one of each.

Anorexia In Women Can Be Linked To Anxiety In Children

Posted by Sylvia on 8th November 2008

I just read an interesting article in a Tehran online newspaper about childhood anxiety and its effects on women. It refers to a study conducted at the University of North Carolina in the U.S.

Women who had anxiety as children and later developed anorexia tend to be plagued with certain personality traits that reduce their quality of life. These particular traits include obsessive behavior related to food and perfectionism.

You might or might not be aware that social phobia and obsessive compulsive disorder belong to a rather lengthy list of anxiety disorders. What you might not know is that these two disorders are much more common in women who are anorexic than they are among the rest of the population.

This is interesting, because the eating disorder generally doesn’t appear until after the anxiety begins. What’s more, anorexic women who had anxiety as children are likely to have especially severe eating disorders.

This send a clear message that childhood anxiety needs speedy attention to prevent the development of eating disorders later in life.

If you suffer from an anxiety disorder, The Linden Method is an excellent resource that guides you to recovery. Read my review.

How You Approach Problems Can Cause Your Anxiety Attacks

Posted by Sylvia on 25th October 2008

It’s hard to believe that everyone, at some point in their lives, haven’t experienced mild anxiety attacks when facing their problems. Severe situations that do not seem to have a solution are the worst.

For some, the anxiety is short lived. They find solutions quickly, regardless of how impossible they seem.

They are able to do this because they approach their problems in a certain way. You have four options when you approach your problems.

  1. Consent to it and accept defeat and quit right from the start.
  2. Resent it. This approach can make you tough, hard, cold and bitter.
  3. Find solutions. This is a much more productive approach.
  4. Prevent the problems. This isn’t always possible or easy, but it is the obvious best approach.

Let’s look at each one a little closer.

Consent to it

This is the absolute worst approach because it can lead in only one direction – to a life of negativity and depression. In essence, you give up all hope of happiness. Rather than fighting, you give up, but the problems don’t go away. And neither does the anxiety.

Resent it

At the very least, this approach triggers some sort of response, albeit negative. Resentment leads to you becoming tough, hard, cold and bitter. Anger is a common outlet for your frustration. Your self pity drives your friends and family away, leaving you to a life of loneliness and isolation.

Find solutions

This is positive thinking, because you are looking for a way out of the predicament. You become creative and energized which brings positive forces back to you, along with solutions.

You might have heard about positive thinking before, but it’s not what many people think it is. It’s not about telling yourself every day that things will work out, or thinking positive thoughts. It’s about working positively towards your goal, whether it’s to resolve problems or find success in your life.

In the majority of cases, you’ll find that your problems stem from your own actions in the past.

Perhaps you didn’t work hard enough and lost your job. Maybe your attitude caused people to turn against you. You might have made bad investment decisions or didn’t take time to really investigate your options.

If you’re the type to live day by day, never thinking of tomorrow, you will not be ready when emergencies arise. Or perhaps you didn’t take the initiative to improve your education to get a better job.

4. Prevent them

In most cases, you can prevent problems from occurring. Or at the very least, preventing it from occurring again. If you lost your income and teetered on the economic edge, make sure it doesn’t happen again by taking precautions. Make very penny work for you.

Some people think that saving means putting a large sum of money away every month, but that’s not necessary. If you save all your pocket change at the end of the day, you’ll be surprised how quickly it adds up.

If you’re working in a career that fluctuates, make plans to prepare yourself for a better, more stable career. This can mean going back to school, taking night, weekend or correspondence courses. Do it while you have an income to pay for it.

Focus on these last two choices and you will soon live a more positive, peaceful and secure life. Your anxiety attacks will be minimized if not removed altogether.

Anxiety, Stress and Hair Loss - What’s the Connection?

Posted by Sylvia on 20th October 2008

Is your hair falling out? Does it alarm you?

Stress and anxiety have been proven to cause hair loss. The strain they put on your body can be significant. Your adrenalin goes into overdrive. You are constantly tense. Even your scalp tenses.

Some people lose their appetites when they are under stress, which puts added strain on your body. In its weakened condition, your body eventually shows signs that damage is occurring.

Getting rid of stress and curing your anxiety are the obvious solutions. But what if you are stressed and anxious because your hair is falling out? For some people, hair loss is to be expected because of their genes. It can reduce a person’s self-confidence which can trigger anxiety.

Fortunately, not all hair loss is permanent. In many cases, it can be treated. Sometimes, just understanding hair loss can help if you think you inherited the gene from your parents or grandparents.

It’s interesting to note that just because someone in your family was bald or had a receding hairline it doesn’t mean that your hair loss is incurable or inevitable. It’s quite possible that your family members weren’t aware that baldness is not a normal part of aging. They might have lost their hair for other, treatable reasons.

You certainly want to reduce stress and cure anxiety, especially if your body is becoming weak because of it. But if you want to stop hair loss and it is making you anxious, check into the various causes. There just might be a cure for you.
